#Woodland5 2014 May Results

A wonderful 102 like minded souls headed down to Crowthorne Woods on the evening of May 21 2014 for the first of the 2014 #Woodland5 races.  Sadly our international stars failed to turn up but thats their loss isn’t it or, maybe they were scared off by the flying bitey things and the “Big Hill”.  It can’t have been all bad though because a certain person (name with held for legal purposes) was heard to exclaim “That was excellent I loved it” although shortly afterwards someone else was heard saying exactly the opposite, not sure if it was the same person though.

Anyway enough ramblings, well done to everyone who finished, you were all truly excellent but as is customary, here are the results of the top 3 runners overall, full category breakdown can be seen in the link below.

Flying home to take the first place overall, was Mark Tennyson from Guildford and Godalming in a time of 33:51 closely followed by Simon Elsbury of Reading Road Runners in 34:09.  Claiming third place was Ray Gascoyne from Aldershot Farnham and District.  Mark and Simon came in first respectively for the Senior Male and Vet Male so huge congratulations to them on this.

For the ladies, Jaydee Peters brought the field home in a cracking time of 36 minutes 40.  Next home were Helen Antram from Sandhurst Joggers in 37:18 and in third place for the females was Claire Marks from reading Road Runners in 38 minutes 40 seconds.

Photo footage will be on the site over the next couple of days, so keep an eye on our website for that.
