June 2016 #Woodland5 Full Results

The June 2016 #Woodland5 has been one of the muggiest on record and boy did you all look sweaty out there!

So onto the muggy sweaty results which have been checked, double checked and they pretty much look correct (rumors of a Camelbak full of cherryade for exchanged for boost bars at the start of the race are still being investigated).

Male 1,2,3

Coming in first this month was last months second place male with a time exactly the same of 33 minutes 25 seconds  as the May 2016 #Woodland5 was Mark Apsey of Reading Road Runners, have you been running with a metronome Mark?  Close behind by 3 seconds were Paul Herbert of Bracknell Forest Runners (up from 33 minutes and 59 seconds last month).  Ducking in just under 34 minutes was Brendan Morris of Reading Road Runners (up from 6th place last month).  Awesome running you majestic males.

For the elder statesmen first male to pick up the Vet trophy was Jonathon Kewe moving up 3 places and 30 seconds into a lovely time of 34 minutes and 25 seconds, in second was Damian Bouche of the mellifluous Windle Valley in 35 minutes and 21 secondsand finally Gavin Rennie of the green vested Reading Road Runners in 35 minutes and 44 seconds.  Great work gentlemen.

Female 1,2,3

For the lovely leggy ladies.  Coming in first and second was a one two for our fine friends down in Fleet wearing the blue and white, Lesley Locks (36 minutes and 57 seconds) and Susie Wookey (37 minutes and 45 seconds) and chasing hard behind them was our lady in red Collette Callanan nearly a minute quicker than last month and up three positions in 37 minutes and 38 seconds.   We also had number 20 coming in twentieth overall (what are the odds of that) from Sandhurst  Joggers Kathryn Shaw who skipped over the pinecone strewn finish line in 38 minutes and 52 seconds well done ladies! Well done all of you fantastic females.

For the distinguished females, it was again all about consistency with the same three VET females dominating the top three again.  However,  the results all got a bit mixed up with the most excellent Collette Callanan placing third overall female and first overall veteran lady (well done Collette thats two bits of bling for your trophy cabinet) followed by Penny Abbot (Fleet and Cookam Athletics) in 39 minutes and 20 seconds and then chasing them down came Trish Monks from Sandhurst Joggers in 40 minutes and 11 seconds.

As ever its not all about the fast footed feline like defy’rs of gravity at the front, we love you all from the very front to the very back from the knarly club runners to those who are trying out off road trail running for the first time.  Whether you are a PB chaser or just trying not to fall over as you struggle up the hill you are all most most welcome.

Looking forward to seeing you all for the finale of the best off-road race in the country held once a month between May and July based in Crowthorne and called the #Woodland5
